October Product Updates: Smarter Imports, Clearer Reports, and Better Rounding
We’ve been listening closely to your feedback, and this month’s updates are designed to save you time, reduce manual work, and bring greater clarity to your HR operations.
📦 Benefit | Import Benefit Records
Access: Benefit > Administration
The Challenge
Previously, the Benefit module didn’t support bulk operations—meaning you had to manually create categories and enter claim records one by one. For organizations handling large volumes of data, this was time-consuming and error prone.
The Solution
We’ve added an import function that lets you create categories and claims in bulk using a simple Excel template. Just download the template, fill it in, and upload—no more repetitive data entry.
Why It Matters
Many clients needed to import historical claims for two key reasons:
Record-keeping and compliance – Maintain complete claim histories for audit and reference purposes
Mid-year onboarding – Calculate accurate available balances for employees when companies join partway through the benefit year
This feature streamlines data migration and ensures new clients can hit the ground running with complete, accurate records.
🕒 Attendance | OT Deduction Column Added to Reports
Access: Attendance > Reports
Affected Reports: Monthly Detailed Report, Monthly Summary Report, Individual Attendance Report
The Challenge
Previously, OT reports only displayed the final calculated overtime hours without showing how those numbers were derived. When clock-in/clock-out times didn’t seem to match the final OT hours, it created confusion—especially for users without access to configuration settings.
The Solution
We’ve enhanced all three reports to include an OT Deduction column, giving you full visibility into how final OT hours are calculated.
Why It Matters
The Attendance Report Administrator role can access all reports but cannot view configuration settings. Without seeing deduction logic, these users struggled to understand or explain OT calculations. Now, math is transparent for everyone—improving trust, accuracy, and your ability to answer employee questions with confidence.
⚙️ Attendance | Round Off Option for OT Rounding
Access: Attendance > Configuration
The Challenge
Previously, OT rounding only supported two options: round up or round down. This limitation sometimes produced results that didn’t align with company policies, particularly for organizations that prefer rounding to the nearest unit.
The Solution
We’ve introduced a third option: Round Off, which rounds values to the nearest unit (e.g., 1.4 hours rounds to 1.0, while 1.5 rounds to 2.0).
Why It Matters
Different companies have different OT policies, and your system should reflect that. This update was driven by client requests for more flexibility in OT calculations, ensuring your payroll process matches your company’s unique rules and stays compliant with internal policies.
